Chris brings experience in media and public relations to Andrea Obston Marketing Communications. He joined the company after serving as press secretary for the House Democrats in the Connecticut State Legislature. Before working in government, Chris was the News Bureau Chief for Metro Networks in Hartford. While at Metro, he was responsible for starting a news organization covering both Connecticut and Western Massachusetts. His responsibilities included delivering afternoon news on WHYN-AM in Springfield, Massachusetts and managing client relations with member radio and television stations.
Chris also worked as a wire writer for the Associated Press Broadcast Services in Washington, DC, during which time he covered national events including the 1996 presidential election and 1997 inauguration. Chris was also the national editor for the Associated Press’ 24-hour all-news radio service. His earlier background includes a number of years at radio stations around Connecticut, including WWYZ-FM, WATR-AM and WSNG-AM.
While at Andrea Obston Marketing Communications, Chris has won three awards for his work on the grand opening of The First Cathedral: The Public Relations Society of America's Mercury Award, The Communicator Award and the International Association of Business Communicator's Golden Quill Award.
